Amateur Radio, widely known as HAM Radio, is the use of radio frequency spectrum for the purposes of non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, private recreation, radio sport, contesting, and emergency radio communications.
Amateur Radio Association of Bangladesh (ARAB) is the national platform for Amateur Radio Operators in Bangladesh. It supports the awareness and growth of Amateur Radio in the country and beyond. ARAB advocates for meaningful access to radio spectrum; strives for every member to get involved, get active, and get on the air; encourages radio experimentation; advances radio technology and education; and organizes and trains volunteers to serve during natural disasters and national emergencies.
ARAB is a non-profit organization of radio enthusiasts. A bona fide interest in Amateur Radio is the essential qualification to be a member of the Association. An Amateur Radio license given by the BTRC is also a prerequisite.
ARAB has an Advisory Body, Executive Committee, Members and Associate Members.
ARAB is committed to eradicate drugs, terrorism and corruption from the society and build its members as a good and patriotic citizen.
